Work plan

The Commission's work plan comprises three key stages:

  • First stage: organization of the consultation and other activities (March to August 2007)
    • March to July 2007
      • establishment of the Commission
      • discussion groups with experts
      • focus groups with individuals
      • meetings with the representatives of organizations
      • meetings with the managers of government departments and public agencies
      • implementation of research projects
      • drafting of the consultation document
      • establishment of the Advisory Committee
    • August 2007
      • publication of the consultation document
      • first provincial forum organized in collaboration with the Institut du Nouveau Monde

  • Second stage: public consultation (September to December 2007)
    • public hearings in 17 cities in regions of Québec (submission of briefs, personal testimony and regional and national forums)
    • study of perceptions of harmonization practices
    • other focus groups
    • second and third provincial forums organized in collaboration with the Institut du Nouveau Monde

  • Third stage: drafting of the final report (January to March 2008)
    • analysis of briefs and the findings of the public consultation
    • fourth provincial forum organized in collaboration with the Institut du Nouveau Monde
    • drafting of the Commission's report
    • submission of the report in late March
